 Upcoming ARSL TRAIN
May TRAIN Roundtable: Customer Service in the Age of Burnout
Libraries are deeply committed to serving their communities, but that commitment can come at a cost to the people doing the work. In an era of increased demand, emotional labor, and limited resources, customer service cannot be sustained without clear boundaries and realistic expectations.
This session will examine how burnout impacts service quality and explores the shared responsibility of both staff and leadership in creating healthier service models. You cannot talk about customer service without talking about staff capacity and well-being. Join us to discuss how we can build a community-care approach in our organizations.
When: Thursday, May 21, 2026 11:00 am PT / 12:00 pm MT / 1:00 pm CT / 2:00 pm ET
